FOURHAVEN PARADISE GONE WRONG

In this dark humor SF adventure, Fordy is a four-dimensional sociopath, an outlaw among his own kind. He decides to play god with Earth humans, creates a paradise world called Fourhaven, and recruits —  or kidnaps – hundreds of people to populate it. Almost from the start, the plan is a disaster for everyone concerned.

On Earth, detectives Sam Buckner and Beth Anderson frantically try to figure out who Fordy is, what he is, and how he manages to abduct large numbers of people. They will learn far more than they ever wanted to know.

Scalawag preacher Jeremiah Freehorn is plucked out of a jail cell and given a second chance at life as Fordy’s High Priest in a new world. When he meets his long-lost love in Fourhaven, he begins to question his role. Meanwhile, Daniel Kelly and his irrepressible cop fiancé, Jazz Castillo, have an unfortunate personal connection with Fordy. They discover firsthand that Fordy has a penchant for human sacrifice.

Jazz Castillo battles to survive on Fourhaven with the help of an unexpected ally.

Joyce Camden feels she is a terrible candidate to save the human race from an alien invasion. Eight billion people are hoping she’s wrong!

As a shy social misfit – and a six-foot-three-inch scarecrow – Joyce is terrified of the responsibility thrust upon her. She has help from an unlikely source: extra-terrestrial humans who were banned from the rest of the galaxy for criminal incompetence!
To prevent Earth’s annihilation, Joyce and her teenage niece and nephew must solve the riddle of an ancient technology that was long forgotten by its bumbling owners.
Unexpectedly, cats play a crucial role in defending our planet.
Most improbable of all, Joyce encounters her other-worldly soulmate. After all, every apocalypse has a silver lining.

What the characters in Sacred Infection say about their
daunting adventures:

Joyce Camden:
“SPACE BATTLES are fantastic in the movie theater – but it’s totally horrifying to be in one.”

Jeffrey Mills:
“What a bummer. During our world’s First Contact, we learned that our Last Contact was right around the corner…”

Julie Mills:
“INTELLIGENT LIFE is valued everywhere, even on planet Earth. So what did those alien insects have against the human race?”

Jeffrey Mills (teenage nephew of Joyce Camden):
“DEADLY ALIEN INVASIONS make great video games – but in real life, you can’t hit the re-set button when they kill you.”

Julie Mills (teenage niece of Joyce Camden):
“I’ll never be able to look at our cat the same way…”

My novels have been complimented for several features:

Colorful believable characters – Whenever I read novels, I love quirky but realistic characters.

Liberal doses of dry humor. I sometimes broke into laughter as I wrote!

Creative world building —  This is what science fiction and fantasy are all about! People are people, but the worlds they live in can stretch and twist the mind.

Original Plots – There’s no new thing under the sun, and yet…
