About The Author

Hello! I’m Fred Witzgall

I recently ended a laughter-filled career teaching high school mathematics, coaching wrestling and sponsoring a unicycle club in Fort Worth, Texas. Before that, I was a recreation director in Minnesota. You see, I’ve always preferred to play for a living. Retired but never bored, I treasure every minute of my life. I unicycle miles and miles in local parks and also in parades (yes, I have a small ham-bone).  I enjoy writing SF-Fantasy novels, spoiling our two cats, reading and hanging out with my favorite people. I volunteer serving free beverages at a Christian coffee house on the University of Texas Arlington campus.

Can’t say enough good things.

Ex-preacher Jeremiah Freehorn sits in a jail cell in Texas awaiting sentencing for his (admittedly not insubstantial) laundry list of crimes. What he really needs is a second chance at life… and gets it when a supernatural, fourth-dimensional entity chooses him to be its prophet. It has created a paradise and wants to recruit humans to live in it. Sounds too good to be true? Of course it is. Jeremiah is soon in over his head, gaining everything he ever wanted but losing all the things that really matter. So who or what IS this god-like entity? What does it ACTUALLY want? And how can an omniscient, omnipotent, malevolent creature be defeated?
This book blew me away. The ideas are imaginative, and I can honestly say I’ve never read anything like it. All of the characters, even the ones that were written to be almost caricatures, feel relatable and organic. This is truly original science fiction, done in the most masterful way.
Well done, Witzgall. Well done.

This book was a fun read!

I really enjoyed this book. The main characters were so likable and the plot was original, but most impressive was the writing style. Really well-done, thoughtful, and descriptive, but it doesn’t drone on and on. I think people who like fantasy, science, and math will enjoy it, although it will also appeal to those like me who are not science or math oriented. There is humor, camaraderie, and action, and Fourhaven is such a cool place you will definitely want to visit!
