ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Retired but never bored, I treasure every minute of my life. I unicycle miles and miles in local parks and also in parades (yes, I have a small ham-bone).  I enjoy writing SF-Fantasy novels, spoiling our two cats, reading and hanging out with my favorite people. I volunteer serving free beverages at a Christian coffee house on the University of Texas Arlington campus.

I’ve written three books so far. The most recent two are Fourhaven: Paradise Gone Wrong, and Sacred Infection: Every Apocalypse Has a Silver Lining. Both are science fiction adventures sprinkled with humor, and a gentle touch of spirituality. The books were fun to write and I’m excited to share them! I released my first book, Zester Z. Zazzlezott, back in in 2012. In honesty, I’m a much better writer now, thanks to coaching from my longtime girlfriend, Noni.

I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, but I do not subscribe to far-right-wing ideology. Neither extreme is appealing to me, but I’m sad that liberal has become a such a bad word in conservative circles. The prophet Amos said, “Let justice roll like a river,” (Amos 5:28) an idea liberals take seriously.

I was manufactured in Austin, Texas, and grew up in an Air Force family with jets roaring in and out of nearby flight-lines. (You learn to tune it out.) After attending high school in Lompoc, California, I spent thirty incredible years in Minnesota, the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes. The number of lakes is not an exaggeration! I played small college football and wrestled at Bethel University in St. Paul, and later graduated from Bethel Seminary. But I got sidetracked by life and never made it into the ministry… until I realized that ministry simply means service, and we are all invited to use our gifts and talents to make this world a better place.

In short, I try to take my faith seriously but myself lightly. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, love mercy, and walk in humility with your God? Micah 6:8
